Whatever SUITS you

Hi everyone! Thank you for joining in with
today!

Suits Avenue is a men’s clothing store located in Kampala, Uganda.

There are so many different body styles, and no two bodies are the same. That’s why in today’s blog we are going to keep it sweet and simple and talk about different suit tips for all sorts of body styles!!

*General tip: If the suit pockets
the middle it will make the waist look more narrow*

While this isn’t necessary for every suit wearer, learning how to take your own body measurements can greatly benefit men with more particular body types such as a tall and stocky build. Once you have your measurements in hand you can take them to a tailor to ensure that perfect narrow fit.

*What to Avoid* Tall men should absolutely avoid horizontal patterns and clothing that fits too loosely, which on a taller man can look especially pronounced.

First we are going to explore the most basic body types: buying suits for tall men.

The best suggestion for tall men is to wear a square jacket. This will help broaden the look of your torso. Called a “block” silhouette, this will ensure you avoid looking too thin or lanky and a double-breasted suit jacket would do just the trick

What if my body type is tall with a stocky build? It can be especially difficult to buy suits for this body type but fear not – we are here to help. The trouble with finding suits for this body type is often that suits are either tailored for big and broad men or for tall and lanky men, and it can be hard to find to find a suit that focuses on both. For this particular body type, you are going to want a bit of looseness in your suit clothes when you first buy them. Wear your suit pants high so they drape over the stomach and buy suit shirts so they can be tucked into the waist. For a jacket, look for a single-breasted suit that will create a loose, deep “V” shape in the front.

Another tip for stocky men: never button more than 2 buttons, also stay away from suits with patterns. The different lines will add more weight to your muscle look and it will look disproportionate.

Next we will discuss how to shop for the ones who no matter how much they eat, they never gain a single pound – The Skinny Guys.

  1. Buy suits with a pattern or get a double breasted jacket as this will add a little weight on your look. The double breasted jacket especially will add much more physical presence.
  2. Don’t let the clothing engulf you. This is another area where having a suit, shirt, trousers with a tailored fit will give you a sharper, neater feel to the clothes you wear.
  3. For pants, skinny guys can pull off bulkier fabrics such as denim and corduroy that offer straight up and down styles and fit the frame of the body well.

*What to Avoid* If you’re tall and skinny stay away from vertical stripped patterns as this will only make you look taller and even thinner.

On to another popular body type: buying suits for short men.

  1. Men that require a more petite cut for their suits are becoming more common. You are going to want to invest in a suit jacket that will elongate your torso. This means jackets with longer lapels and multiple buttons.
  2. You are also going to want to buy shirts and pants that focus on elongating those areas. The shirt should stick out past your suit so that a small band of cloth is visible. Make sure the sleeve of your suit does not cover the shirt entirely! Wearing trousers with suspenders will add a horizontal line running up your torso creating the illusion of height.
  3. Avoid wearing longer trousers that will bunch up around the bottom of the legs. This will look especially noticeable on those with a shorter build.

*What to Avoid* You should avoid cuffing the bottoms of pants as they will make legs look even shorter. For shirts and pants, avoid dense and heavy fabrics such as tweed, these fabrics can look heavy and weight down the body.

And finally, a body type you might have heard a lot about recently is the “Dad Bod.” A term was created to describe most dads who are too busy working long hours to keep up with a healthy diet and exercise. Here are a few tips for the men who fit in this category.

  1. You are going to want to be very careful when selecting a suit jacket as the way is fits your body will matter a lot in this situation. You are going to want a jacket thats cut high and long, that pinches mid-torso. Something that will not look bulky over the rear, a single vented jacket should accomplish this.

*What to Avoid* We suggest not buttoning your buttons. This will leave your jacket loose enough to hide all your work in progress. This is the only body style that can get away without buttoning their jacket.

CAFE KNOT

cafe knot.jpg

  1. Drape the necktie around your collar with the seam facing inward and the thick end on your right, about a half an inch lower than you want the finished tie to hang.
  2. Cross the thin end over the thick end, forming an X. Then bring the thin end up through the loop you just formed, behind the X.
  3. Flip the thin end over the top of the knot.
  4. Bring the thin end behind the knot from left to right.
  5. Bring the thin end across the front from right to left.
  6. Bring the thin end behind the knot and up through the loop around your neck. This will leave a horizontal band across the front of the knot.
  7. Flip the thin end over the front of the knot so that it hangs down.
  8. Bring the thin end slightly to the left of the thick end, then fold it around behind the knot, passing from left to right.
  9. Bring the thin end up in front of the knot, pointing the tip upward and toward your left shoulder.
  10. Tuck the thin end through the loop around your collar, behind the rest of the knot and emerging on the left side of the thick end.
  11. Tug the thin end down firmly and take a moment to arrange the center of the knot. You want the diagonal legs to rise at the same angle, meeting squarely beneath your chin.
  12. Flip the thick forward and up. You can toss it over one shoulder.
  13. Turn the thin end point-upward and slip it through the single horizontal loop across the back of the knot.
  14. Pull the thin end all the way through the loop and snug it up tight.
  15. Flip the two ends of the tie back down.
  16. Tighten carefully by holding the knot in one hand while tugging on the thick end with your other.

🆒How to: Care for your clothes🆓

Hi everyone, thank you for reading How to care for your clothes with Suits Avenue!
Today we are going to give some tips on how to care for your suit to get the best look for the longest amount of time!

  1. The first step to suit care is ROTATING them!

If you wear the same suit every day, all day long it will never give the fibres time to relax or air out. Using round, wood hangers will give the suit enough space for air to flow through, getting the smells of your every day out. It also helps keep the suit fitting nice and tight.
hanger.jpg
2. Keep very little in your pockets.
Do not overfill any of your pockets, inside or outside of the suit. Only carry your essentials, cash, business cards, debit/credit cards. If you overload your pockets it will eventually change the shape of the suit.
3. Brush your suit with a clothing brush.
This will extend the natural fibres in the suit and allowing it to last longer. It keeps the fibres up allowing it to breathe more.
suitbrush.jpg
4. Steam your suit regularly.
Steaming your suit opens up the fibres, removes stains and marks as well as the smells. Dry ironing your suit will push the fibres down trapping all stains and stenches.
suitsteamer.jpg
5. Avoid the dry cleaners
Dry cleaners shorten the lifespan of suits. They use strong chemicals to treat the suits so they are clean. It is only necessary to take your suit to the dry cleaners if you absolutely cannot get the stain or smell out of your suit.
How to Pack a Suit:
STEP 1
Lay suit facedown on a flat surface.

STEP 2
Fold left shoulder back.

STEP 3
Turn right shoulder inside out, then tuck left shoulder into the right.
3.png

STEP 4
Fold in half lengthwise and then fold horizontally.

STEP 5
Place folded jacket in the center of the outstretched trousers.

STEP 6
Fold trouser bottoms over jacket and repeat with top of trousers.

🤴How to dress for a wedding🎩

Hi everyone! Thank you for reading Suits Avenue’s blog!

Today we are going to show you the proper attire to wear to a wedding!

First, you will need to start with a nice dress shirt

Made Imported from Italy and Turkey 150kand Imported from Italy and Turkey 200k for set

For a formal occasion like a wedding, it is best to stick with solid color undershirts, the most common shirts are white or black, depending on the color of your suit.

Next, you will need to find a tight-fitting vest.

WhatsApp Image 2018-03-23 at 3.37.48 AM (18)

It is best to get a tight-fitting vest so your jacket will easily form with your body so it doesn’t look baggy or too big.

Now, you need nice, ironed dress paints and a matching blazer.

WhatsApp Image 2018-03-23 at 3.37.06 AM (13)

When purchasing your jacket there are a few key things to look for

  1. Make sure your shoulder fit perfectly. You don’t want them to be too snug so you cant move your arms, but it also can’t be too big and look like you are wearing shoulder pads.
  2. With the jacket buttoned, the lapels should lie flat on your chest. If they bow or leave a gap around your shirt collar try a different size.
  3. Your sleeves should hug your arms and show a half-inch of cuff
  4. With the jacket buttoned, slide your thumb between the button and your gut. If your thumb is snug, good. If it’s a little loose or tight, try a different size.
  5. Your pants should sit at your natural waistline (about an inch below your navel)

Now, you will need nice dress shoes and a matching tie.

It is okay to have a pattern or some type of design, however, never have the same pattern style or type on multiple pieces. It is meant to be a little accent to your outfit, not the whole outfit.

  1. Wear a suit and tie.
  • Wear a well-fitting three-button suit in a dark color with matching pants.
  • Wear a long-sleeve white or solid blue button-down shirt. Make sure it is ironed.
  • Wear a conservative tie in either a solid color or with a small printed pattern.
  • Wear a dark-colored belt.

  • Wear dress shoes, such as oxfords, wingtips, or loafers. They should be in good condition and polished with no scuff marks.
  • Don’t hesitate to ask a friend or family member for advice on how you look.

Dress to impress with Suits Avenue

Classic Cut v.s. Slim Fit

Hi Everyone! Thank you for reading Suits Avenue’s Blog! Today we are going to compare classic cut to slim fit suits!

It really is all about the fit. The saying “the suit makes the man” is right: an ill-fitting suit can make you look less dressed up than wearing no suit at all.

EXTREME SLIM FIT

extreme slm.jpg

perfect for a trim guy who wants to wear his suit, not the other way around. The jacket features a narrower chest and waist that is form-fitting without being constricting. The trousers are slim-fitting with a narrow opening at the cuff and a low rise.

SLIM FIT

oic.jpg  slim.jpg

Just like it sounds, Slim Fit is fitted closer to the body, without excess fabric. That doesn’t mean it fits like a superhero bodysuit; Slim Fit can be worn by a lot of different body types.

CLASSIC FIT

pic.jpg      traditional.jpg

Classic Fit is comfortable and easy to wear. It’s cut generously through the chest and waist, which means less constriction for you, but still maintains a clean body shape

Hi everyone! Thank you for taking the time to read Suits Avenue’s blog! Today we are talking about Turkish Suits in Kampala, corporate suits, and how to choose quality and value.
MOST COMMON TURKISH REVIEWS

“nothing makes me fall in love like saying a well dressed man” – GK

“for real imported suits from Turkey, great customer care. I will buy again and again..”-KL

“So nice & cool for chilling with baddies so guys thanks for having kept us well thank u so much” -AP

Turkish suits are quality at good price….

10 Ways to spot a cheap suit

1. CHEAP PLASTIC BUTTONS

Do the buttons look cheap, flimsy, and painted? They probably are.

2. PLASTIC BUTTON ANCHORS

3. PAPER-Y LINING

Cheap linings are usually made of polyester, which traps heat and doesn’t breathe at all. It’s especially bad if it makes a “scrunchy” or “swishy” sound when you move it around.

4. SYNTHETIC FIBERS (OR SIZING S-XL)

Just avoid shiny, stiff, sweaty synthetic fibers. Go all natural.

And a suit should be cut slightly more precisely than “Small”, “Medium” or “Large”. It’s not a t-shirt, don’t buy it like one.

5. SKIMPING ON EXTRA FABRIC

The roughly 3.5 yards of cloth it takes to make a suit is the majority of its cost. A cheap manufacturer will cut all the excess – including the fabric under the hem needed to lengthen the trousers and the fabric inside the seat needed to let-out the waist.

6. LAPEL LINES NOT ANCHORED

7. FUSING BUBBLES

This is the sign of a “fused front” (ie. glued together) chest piece.

8. LOW ARMHOLES

A low armhole is a just bad design. It’s a carry-over from old-school patterns.

9. HARD-CREASED ROLL LINES

The lapel is a focal point of the suit. It should have a soft, gradual, three-dimension roll that gives dimension and life to the jacket.

10. BUBBLY SHOULDER LINES

The shoulders are a critical point of a suit. They should have a clean smooth line.

Thank you again for reading Suits Avenue’s Blog!! Stay tuned! We will continue to update this weekly! Stop in today for your Turkish suit to be happy like these customers!!!
